SAC English as a Second Language through the ABLE program

Jobs in the future will require more and more education.  SAC can get your started on your path to an education so you can earn more and reach your economic goals.

English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are offered at the Spanish American Committee through a partnership with the ABLE program of Parma City School District.  ABLE stands for Adult Basic Literacy Education. Parma ABLE provides the instructors and materials.  The Spanish American Committee provides the facility, technology access, and help with recruitment. 

ABLE provides quality educational programming for adults as they strive to reach their goals in their roles as learners, family members, citizens, and workers.  Click here for more information about ABLE.

Classes are offered:

  •       Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00am-12:30pm or
  •       Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30pm-7:30pm
  •       in the SAC classrooms at 4407 Lorain Ave.                                                                   

To enroll in the classes, students need to be at least 19 years of age, or have proper documentation showing graduation from high school or an official withdrawal letter. Orientations (registration) are offered in Cleveland, Parma, and Parma Heights but students can register at any location and attend any class of their choice.  There are no tuition or fees for the classes.

The next registration at Spanish American Committee is Janaury 12th and 14th from 10am-12:30 or from 5:30pm-7:30pm. To register, students need to bring an ID/passport. Students should expect to fill out paperwork and to take a basic speaking and listening assessment.
