Cleveland, OH-The Spanish American Committee shall honor Ronn Richard and the Cleveland Foundation with the Latino Leadership Award during their Embracing New Beginnings Black Tie Benefit Gala presented by Elk & Elk®. The event will be held Friday, September 26, 2014 at La Villa Conference & Banquet Center starting at 7:00pm. The event includes a short program, dinner, and dancing with a DJ and special guest Elvis Crespo, international music star.

The Latino Leadership Award is given to an organization in the community that has promoted the Latino culture through their vision, leadership, and support. “It’s especially rewarding for the Cleveland Foundation to receive the Spanish American Committee’s Latino Leadership Award in our 100th year of serving Greater Cleveland,” said Ronn Richard, President and CEO of the Cleveland Foundation. “Through the generosity of our donors, we have been able to provide more than $400,000 throughout the past four decades to support the Spanish American Committee’s important work in our community. As we enter our second century, we remain steadfast in our commitment to enhancing the lives of all Greater Clevelanders across our diverse geographies and backgrounds.”

Christopher Martinez, Board President of The Spanish American Committee said, “We are very grateful to the Cleveland Foundation for all they have done to support the Latino community. They have given back to our Cleveland community this year and we thought it was fitting for us to honor them with our Latino Leadership Award.”

The gala, Embracing New Beginnings, is presented by Elk & Elk Co., Ltd., a law firm providing free consultations on-site for clients of The Spanish American Committee to discuss their personal injury cases. “We are honored to have the opportunity to sponsor the Gala and celebrate with The Spanish American Committee. We applaud the work of The Cleveland Foundation on behalf of the Latino Community,” said Arthur Elk, managing partner of Elk & Elk.
