Job Title: GED Bilingual Class Instructor (Part-Time and or Contract Position)

Job Summary:
The GED Bilingual Class Instructor is responsible for instruction of Adult education to prepare students to take and pass the Ohio Department of Education GED exam a high
school equivalency diploma. SAC’s desired program outcomes are to serve as a gateway for Hispanic community members to obtain a High School Equivalency certificate in order
to qualify to enter a local college or Jr. college degree program, an occupational skills training program or to meet the minimum requirements for employment opportunities that
will increase the economic welfare of individuals and families.
Job Functions
- Provide workshop instruction of Ohio GED curriculum to culturally diverse Hispanic students in Spanish
- Develop curriculum for the new GED exam
- Serve as motivational individual to inspire students to achieve the Equivalency Diploma and help them understand the benefits of obtaining the GED.
- Responsible for conducting TABE test exams to gauge student current level and to identify and document grade level improvements
- Assist with developing an Individual Education Plan by recommending potential time frames and goals for student to track progress
- Take and keep accurate attendance logs and submit to administrative assistant after each class
- Conduct Follow up with students who stop attending to inquire about reasons they stop attending and reengage
- Collaborate with in-house service by providing information on program events, supportive services, job fairs and other activities hosted or sponsored by the Spanish American
Committee
- Assist in the development of program improvements by making recommendations, sharing knowledge of effective models
- Responsible for assisting with GED orientation and maintaining an accurate database of students
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor relevant to program needs and within the listed hours of the program: May include, clerical duties, client contacts and other
duties as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in education preferred with at least 2 years of teaching/instructing experience. Education may be substituted for over 5 years teaching/instructing experience
in related field
- Must be able to teach 5 core program education areas required to pass the GED
- Must be Bilingual Fluent in Spanish and English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Knowledge of Ohio’s GED requirements
- Effective interpersonal skills and communication ability in various formats including e-mail correspondence
- Computer skills word processing, spreadsheets and database as well as familiarity with computer based training programs
- Subject to background checks and drug testing
Note: Classes will be twice a week from 6-8PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays in person instruction and as needed, zoom is available for the instructor.

Job Title: Daycare Teacher
Department: Little Footsteps Child Enrichment Center
Reports to: Daycare Director
Job Description:
Under direct supervision of the Childcare Director, teacher will carry out the day-to-day classroom activities and operations to enhance the children's development to
best prepare them for future educational experiences. The teacher will be responsible for the health, well-being, and educational growth for the given age group in which they are
teaching and monitoring through their given shifts.
Responsibilities:
Under direction, ensure that the activities of this
position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision and values of the Spanish American Committee Child Care.
- Assist in setting up defined learning areas and maintain a safe, healthy classroom environment that is arranged to support independence.
- Assume responsibility of the classroom in the absence of the teacher or as needed.
- Maintain safe classroom environment, which includes monthly fire/tornado drills.
- Maintain a healthy environment through daily classroom routines.
- Assist in writing lesson plans.
- Will recording ongoing observation of children, writing anecdotal notes, and displaying their work.
- Encourage good daily hygiene and model good eating habits.
- Attend to child/children when an emergency arises and administer first aid and CPR.
- Sit, eat and socialize with the children during meal and snack time.
- Report immediately and record any signs of illness or injury, write up an incident report and submit it as appropriate within 24 hours of the incident.
- Engage in children’s play in all areas of the classroom and all parts of the curriculum. (floor play, outdoor/gross motor and music/movement activities).
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development training's as required.
- Maintain cleanliness of site at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed by immediate supervisor.
Requirements:
- Combination of education and experience normally represented by a Child Development Associate (CDA). Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field
preferred.
- Must have at least 1 - 3 years experience working in a daycare or preschool classroom.
- Must have a working knowledge of all local, state and federal laws and procedures pertaining to Childcare licensing.
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Must be able to effectively and productively work with people of very diverse economic, cultural and administrative backgrounds.
- Must be well organized, detail oriented, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must have good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete a background check
- Will be monitored under video surveillance
