Family Support Program
Families and individuals in need of food, clothing or shelter are the focus of our family support program. Our focus in establishing communities of self-sufficiency is to eliminate or stabilize immediate crises and to provide long-term plans for self-sufficiency.
The Family Support Program consists of the following services: Central Intake, Crisis Intervention, Strong Start, Help Me Grow, and Interpretation Services.
Central Intake
Central Intake Service is offered Monday through Friday from 9am-12pm and 2pm-4pm. The purpose of the centralized intake process is to provide the community with direct access to service. There are no eligibility requirements. Clients receive:

Strong Start
Strong Start is a voluntary program providing family support, education and resources to couples expecting a baby or who have a baby less than three months old. In order to participate in the program, couples cannot be married, must reside in Cuyahoga County and meet income guidelines. Participants receive: Twelve-week seminar on effective communication, conflict resolution, working together as parents, employment options and financial literacy. Intake and assessment to identify any barriers that will prevent a healthy relationship or program completion. Monetary incentives for program completion.
Help Me Grow
Help Me Grow is a voluntary home-visiting program for eligible families with children 3 years old or younger. The program provides resources needed to ensure proper development of their child. Participation is by referral through the Spanish American Committee or the regional Help Me Grow Central Intake Office. Parents receive: Monthly home-visits provided by Service Coordinators and Home Visitors. Regular developmental screenings and assessments. Access to community resources. A plan to monitor family goals for child.
Interpretation Services
Interpretation services are offered on- or off-site on a contractual basis. The Spanish American Committee provides interpretation services for the Ohio Bureau of Rehabilitation and Cuyahoga County. There are no eligibility requirements for this service, which is available for a nominal charge.
